Fallen Idol Won't Sing for Troops (E! Online)

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra has one less holiday commitment on her schedule.

Following her most recent brush with the law, the 22-year-old has been disinvited from performing at a patriotic concert Friday in Washington, D.C., organizers said.

Not that she could have attended the event in any case--Sierra is currently being held at a Tampa jail, at least until her next hearing Dec. 20.

She was taken into custody Dec. 1 after a scuffle at a nightclub and has pleaded innocent to charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest.

Her behavior has apparently made her a less than appealing candidate to pay tribute to U.S. troops at Fridays event.

While we appreciate Ms. Sierras past efforts to support U.S. troops, including performing for them in Iraq on Independence Day, it is quite obvious Ms. Sierra needs to devote a great deal of time to putting her life back together, retired Air Force Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson said in a statement.

The singers attorney had no comment on the situation, while a message posted on her official Website thanked fans for their support of and interest in Jessica during this difficult time.

Last month, Sierra pleaded no contest to charges of felony battery and drug possession. She was sentenced to 12 months probation and random drug testing.

Her latest arrest puts her in violation of her parole in the earlier case.

Sierra entered a rehab program in California last July. Her treatment was slated to be the subject of an episode of VH1s upcoming reality series, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
