Jessica Simpson may have set a new record at the box office with her latest film, Blonde Ambition, which should have gone straight to DVD. Actually, it's so bad it should never have been made at all. Despite the fact that the movie co-stars the popular Luke Wilson, it took in only $1,190 over the weekend. Industry insiders think this some kind of all time low record for worst ticket sales.
'Blonde Ambition' was only shown in eight theaters in Texas, but that's still an average of less than $50 per theater per day, meaning maybe six people showed up to see it in each location each day.
On his TV Guide Online blog, film critic Ken Fox asked, "Doesn't someone like Jessica Simpson have more than 48 friends? What about that big Texas family of hers? ... Just how bad is this thing anyway?"
