RUSSELL SIMMONS BEACH GETAWAY, DIAMOND AUCTION
Russell Simmons hit the beach with his yummy girlfriend, model Porschia Coleman, yesterday. And these two look like they're just living it up together.
And the Def Jam/Phat Farm founder, 50, is doing his part to help out the less fortunate during this holiday season.
The Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF) was started by Simmons in order to help Africans help Africa. According to their mission statement:
"Founded in 2007, The Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.) is a non-profit international organization established by individuals and businesses in the diamond and jewelry industry and others who are committed to the empowerment of Africa. D.E.F.s mission is to raise money to support education initiatives that develop and empower economically disadvantaged people in African nations where diamonds are a natural resource."
There are approximately 15 lots of donated fine diamond pieces, including the diamond-encrusted Ohm watch from Simmons Jewelry Co (the opening bid is $8,000!). The auction runs on Ebay through December 16th.
