BRITNEY SPEARS: QUEEN OF THE INTERNET
While she definitely may not consider it her best year personally, Britney Spears kept things interesting enough to pull in the top spot as far as Internet search terms go in 2007.
Combining a shaved head, a rehab stint and a child custody battle, among numerous other incidences, the troubled pop tart was recently named the most popular Yahoo search term this year.
According to a recent press release, " Paris Hilton, in turn, came in third on the list, thanks in large part to her 45-day jail sentence in a reckless driving case. Last year, she was the number five most-searched term."
The report continues, "For the second year in a row, World Wrestling Entertainment placed second on the list, with an enormous amount of interest generated by Chris Benoit, the wrestler who killed his wife and son before committing suicide in June."
Meanwhile, "Naruto, a Japanese manga cartoon, was the fourth most popular term, edging out Beyonc, who came in fifth."
