LONDON (AFP) - Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth IIs youngest son, has named his second child James, Buckingham Palace said Friday.

The latest addition to the royal family was born to Edwards wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, on Monday.

The babys full name is James Alexander Philip Theo, his full surname will be Mountbatten-Windsor and he will take the title Viscount Severn.

The queens eighth grandchild is also eighth in line to the throne in the list of succession headed by Prince Charles.

Edward and Sophie, who married in 1999, already have a daughter, four-year-old Lady Louise Windsor.

On Thursday, the 81-year-old queen became Britains oldest monarch, overtaking her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria.
