Z100 JINGLE BALL ROCKS NYC

Every year, tens of thousands of lucky fans get to see a who's who of bands perform for the Z100 Jingle Ball. And this year was definitely an early Christmas present to those lucky enough to nab a ticket to the Madison Square Garden gig.

On the vocal/pop end of things, fans were treated to performances by the Backstreet Boys, "American Idol" Jordin Sparks, and Alicia Keys.

Those with more of a taste for edgier stuff enjoyed the sounds of Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, and the Jonas Brothers.

And for everyone just looking to shake their collective booty, Timbaland was in the house making heads bob with his masterful beats.

Emcee JJ Kincaid described the eclectic blend of musical flavors. "To be honest, I think of it this way: Get the biggest buzz acts and established acts and sprinkle in some newbies with real talent and hope the audience picks up on them and starts to follow them. I like to describe the Ball as the food court of music: You've got a little of everything."

And according to Kincaid, it's a crap shoot to see who will get the coveted tickets. "It borders on sad, actually, what people will do to get tickets. I'm getting e-mails from all over the country from people with incredibly rare diseases I've never heard of, right down to 'My mole won't go away unless I get tickets.'"
